When being a Stepmom is hard

Being a Step mom is like a roller coaster.
There are days when you are on the top of the hill and everything is exhilarating and fun and fulfilling. Then there are days when you dread being at the bottom of the hill, it feels like the roller coaster car is never going to make it to the top of the hill and you dread seeing what is on the other side.
Feeling like you are on a never-ending roller coaster can.get.old.really.really.really.fast....
For instance for me, Friday and Saturday went really well for our family....but Sunday my SS was driving me crazy!!! Thankfully my husband is on top of things and always steps in when he can see that I am starting to lose my mind. He put SS to bed early so that we could spend some quality quiet time together.Just the two of us. So I was able to take a little break from the roller coaster ride. However the SS will be back this afternoon when I pick him up from school. So, in the mean time I will need to spend my time wisely and prepare myself for another round.
I think I will plan a yummy dinner for tonight and play in my craft room today.
Happy Monday!

Monday monday monday

Another monday has come and passed. I did a lot today.
I made homemade laundry soap.
I did laundry with new homemade soap.
I shopped for groceries and made dinner for my family.
I cleaned the bathroom and changed sheets on the beds.
I went to zumba tonight and danced until my heart was content.
Now I am ready to climb into my warm bed, snuggle up to my honey and catch some Zzzzz.
I'm glad to be alive to do these little daily tasks and show my love for my family.
Hope you had a good Monday too!

Spring is almost here

Today it is beautiful outside. Lots of sunshine and the snow is finally starting to melt.
I did a little sewing today. (Check out my Etsy store on the right.)
I think bowties are SO cute on little boys. I love the fun colors of the fabric. They just scream SPRING to me.They are so much fun to make. Its nice to have some time to be creative. I feel so calm and happy when I use my hands to make something.
I better use my hands to go make some dinner for my family.
Hope you had a great Monday.

I take way to many breaks

This poor little blog. I keep forgetting all about her. I should seriously think about making 2013 a more productive year blog-wise;)
Here we are in February of 2013, January was the longest month ever!
There is something about the cold, dark weather that makes me want to curl up in my bed and hibernate. I hate seasonal depression it makes everything so hard to do!
But, we are past January and now into February.
I Love February!!! Its our Anniversary month!! So for the next two weeks (especially) I am focusing on doing little lovey-dovey things for my sweetheart. I started yesterday by leaving a little note for him on the dresser. I think he liked it. I have so many fun ideas of things I want to do and make.
This cake is super cute and I think even I could pull it off:)

I love this idea! I'm going to zurchers to get Balloons to make this:)

What a sweet idea. I am going to do this too;)

Motto for the week + Goals

I enjoyed a nice weekend full of family and fun. The hubby and I got caught up on the first part of season 4 of White Collar. We seriously LOVE that show. Mozzie is the BEST.

My Motto for the week is:
(from Pinterest)

I am realizing that if I want change or different results in my life, I am going to have to take different actions.
So, if I want to be healthy I need to:
Get up earlier to fit in a workout
Eat more fruit and veggies
Drink more water
These are all so commonsense that is kind of silly that I have to remind myself to do them. But, I have reached a point in my life where I am done playing the "victim". I am done with self-pity. It is time for action!
I wrote down some goals this week:
  1. Exercise 5 days this week for 45 min
  2. Read my bible daily
  3. Clean out the flower beds
  4. Organize my coupons
  5. Post new items on my Etsy shop
  6. Date Night with Husband
  7. Make a treat with StepSon
  8. Work on Scrapbooking
  9. Keep up with daily housework
  10. Practice contentment
SO those are my goals and I know that I can do a great job on them. I just have to be self-disciplined and  focused.
Have a great Monday!

Sunday Musings

Today is sunday. The weather outside is gorgeous. And my Sweetie is home. We get to spend the whole together. Which is my Favorite thing to do.
Another one of my favorite things to do is to plan for the upcoming week. I feel like it gives me a sense a direction for the days ahead.
I like to plan out our meals, my workouts, and my homekeeping schedule.
I also enjoy setting goals to so that I can check my progress at the end of the week.
I hope you enjoy your sunday as much as I do!

I took a small blogging break through the month of March. I didn't intend too, but, it was good.  I needed some time to get my "wheels back on the tracks" so to say. I set some new goals, I have been getting a lot of rest and it is all good.
May will be awesome. I am looking forward to posting regularly on this blog once again. Getting outside a little more. And just being a happier person overall.
 Life is good!
